Marcela de La Vega Luna

Marcela is originally from Mexico City. She came to the United States in 2003 with a contract as a dancer and acrobat for Cirque Du Soleil. A year later she got injured with labrum tears in her hips. A large part of her recovery was using Pilates for her rehabilitation.

Years passed and she was able to keep dancing and avoid surgery thanks to the specific and targeted muscle work that Pilates provided. She recognized the importance of having that knowledge.

Before she decided to become a mother, Marcela got certified in Pilates by the D.K. Body Balancing Method, instructed by Dolly Kelepecz at the University of Nevada, as Vegas in 2007. She did all of her practice hours working with Cirque Du Soleil artists and eventually became a teacher for various Cirque Du Soleil shows. Once certified, she began her private practice.

In June of 2022 Marcela moved to Nashville in addition to teaching Pilates she continues to dance and as a choreographer. She is supper happy to have found a studio like Marathon Pilates and its amazing community and looks forward to growing as a Pilates teacher, dancer, mother, wife, and human being.
