Meredith searched for years for a workout that would not aggravate her pointe-shoe-damaged feet and ankles and that, while working as an attorney at a large law firm in DC, would reduce stress and offset hours spent sitting at a desk. Encouraged by a friend, she tried Pilates, and knew she had found her match. Meredith completed her comprehensive 750+ hour mat and apparatus training with Mark Trudeau at Quantum Pilates in 2013, as well as bridge training at Fuse Pilates, both in Washington, DC. She is fully certified by the Pilates Method Alliance. In 2015, she became a
Certified Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She is also a certified Pre- and Postnatal Pilates Specialist through the Center for Women’s Fitness, and Specialist in Pilates-Based Exercise for Multiple Sclerosis. She has appeared in six videos on Pilates Anytime with Mariska Breland, and taken continuing education workshops with Blossom Leilani Crawford, Mi Valentin, Nora St. John, Lolita San Miguel, Courtney Miller, and Erin Myers. In addition to her Pilates training, Meredith has a law degree from Vanderbilt University and spent seven years practicing law before pursuing a lifestyle change to teach Pilates (of course!) and become a law librarian. By day, she now works at her alma mater teaching legal research courses and supporting faculty research. She maintains a ready supply of playlists for her upbeat classes, and believes that a Pilates practice can be both thoughtful and fun.
